About Us

My dream came true

About my Inspiration

I'm Katrina and Time to Play Café is my dream. Since I was a little kid, I've always loved playing games! My family used to play the classics such as Monopoly, Clue, and one of my favorites, HedBanz's. I remember being absolutely terrible at HedBanz's, so bad in fact, that I would sorta use the bathroom mirror to "help" me when I got stuck...ssshhhh. As a bonus mom to an energetic daughter named Jaidah, (better known as "Cub"), I've spent many days and 11 o'clock nights (per her request), playing some of those same games. But often times, it can be hard to find a game that everyone can enjoy. Sometimes she just isn't old enough to understand the game or hasn't lived long enough to be good at my trivia favorites. She can however kick my butt at games of skill or strategy, like Jenga or Connect 4. Today there are so many games on the market and if you are anything like me, a person who loves trying new games, you know that buying new games can get expensive. I've wasted money on games that I just couldn't figure out, and I've also purchased games that have become household favorites that I pull out time and time again.

More about me

As a bonus mom, I've also spent many a Saturday afternoon at kids' birthday parties, trampoline parks, and skating rinks. When my cub was younger, I frantically stalked her throughout every venue worried that she'd get lost or hurt. Yes, I was that mom. As she got older, I found myself tired of the same old routine of weekends spent at trampoline parks and skating rinks. If you ask my cub what she wants to do this weekend, 9 times out of 10 she will say go skating or to the trampoline park. I'm sure your own child has a similar obsession. Those places are not my type of fun. Fun for me, is actually time spent interacting with my friends and family, talking and playing game after game. But let's be honest, most of the time as parents we're going to do what is fun for the littles. So, I decided that we needed a place that could meet in the middle. Somewhere adults can get together and have as much fun as the kids. A place where they can play games as a family or with other adults, be entertained, have some delicious coffee and tasty treats, and relax (or get work done) while their children play safely. After talking with family and friends, Time to Play Café was born.

" My love for hosting game nights with my family is something I can't wait to share with your family and friends in our play café.  We hope to create an enviroment that the whole community can appreciate."
